- There is a flash ROM upgrade floating about out there. It is an
- executable. When you use it, it first fills the screen with a slew
- of warnings (i.e. don't do this while in MS-Windows, with TSR's
- going etc.) At the bottom of that page it states "Press any key
- to continue". Well, I wanted more info, like what this flash
- upgrade was suppose to modify/fix. So I pressed any key. Big
- mistake, it did the flash right there and then. They were right,
- if you do the flash while in WIN95 it will render the modem dead
- to the world.
-
- Consumers of this product, launch this executable from DOS only.
- Don't have ANYTHING else going.
-
- Hayes, why don't you folks change the line on the bottom of that
- screen to "Press any key to start the flash"?
-
- P.S. The Hayes folks were nice enough to take my modem in and
- restuff it with the right code.
